Butter Wafer Cookies

2 bowls, 3 hand mixers with beaters, baking sheet, oven, roasting rack
Step 1/10
Put oven rack in center of the oven and preheat to 375°F.

- 2¾ cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder

In medium bowl mix flour, baking soda and baking powder then set aside.

- 1 cup butter
- 1½ cups sugar
- hand mixer with beaters

In a large bowl use an electric hand mixer to combine softened butter and sugar.

- ½ cup margarine
- hand mixer with beaters
Add softened margarine and beat until creamy.

- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- hand mixer with beaters
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Step 6/10
Slowly beat in flour mixture.

Using about a teaspoon sized amount of dough, roll the dough between your hands to shape it into a ball.

Place dough balls onto a nonstick cookie sheet

Bake in the oven for 7 to 9 minutes.

Let cool on pan for 2 to 4 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
