Letter from the Editor: Everywhere I Want to Be
Recipes and stories to transport you
It’s hard to believe it’s August already. Every year it seems to come around faster than the last, and summer seems to end just as soon as it begins. Of course, this year, amidst the Corona crisis, the season looks a bit different. In some parts of the world, we’re enjoying (limited) freedom to travel and spend time with friends and family; in others, the lockdown still persists, and what it is to be home has taken on new meaning.
So for the August issue, we’ve chosen the theme “Everywhere I Want to Be” as an ode to the summer vacation and all it represents—travel, time off, the freshest ingredients, and the coldest drinks. Even if we’re not checking any faraway destinations off our bucket lists this year, we’re here to share our ideas for finding contentment right where you are—and of course, it all comes down to what to cook.
A sneak peak of what’s to come
From recreating a favorite holiday meal at home to learning a new skill (homemade sushi, anyone?) there are numerous ways to transport ourselves to the destinations we didn’t quite make it to this year. Plus, time’s on our side to test out that food trend we’re seeing all over Instagram, experiment with summer drink recipes, or treat the family to homemade ice cream sandwiches. Spoiler alert: We’ll walk you through all of the above.
