If serving for kids, you can replace smoked paprika powder with sweet paprika powder for a less smoky taste. And if you fancy a little more heat, add extra chili flakes. Don't forget to add a dollop of crème fraîche at the end to make the sausage goulash extra creamy!   • Step 1/4

    Peel onion and garlic, dicing the onion and finely chopping the garlic. Remove the core from bell peppers and cut into strips. Cut sausages into bite-sized pieces.

    Heat some oil in a large pot, add bacon, onion, and garlic to sauté for approx. 1–2 min. Then, add bell peppers and sausages to fry for approx. 1–2 min. more. Add paprika powder and tomato paste and fry for a few more minutes.

Add in peppers and sausage to fry with paprika powder and tomato purée. Deglaze with stock, add chopped tomatoes and thyme and let simmer. Finally, add crème fraîche and season to taste.
