No to Butter, Yes to Plant-Based Oils: New Study Reveals How to Extend Your Life
Replacing butter with plant-based oils can significantly improve health.
A small change on your plate – a big difference for your health. New studies confirm that plant-based oils can help extend life expectancy.
Plant-Based Oils Reduce Mortality Risk
A recent study from Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital found that replacing butter with plant-based oils can significantly lower the risk of premature death. The study analyzed data from over 220,000 participants over a period of up to 33 years and revealed that those who consumed higher amounts of plant-based oils had a 16% lower mortality risk compared to those with lower consumption.
Butter Increases Disease Risk
In contrast, a high intake of butter was associated with a 15% higher risk of premature death. The study particularly highlighted a strong correlation between butter consumption and an increased risk of cancer.
Recommendation: Replace Butter with Plant-Based Oils
Researchers therefore recommend replacing butter with plant-based oils such as olive, canola, or soybean oil to reduce mortality risk. According to the study, this simple swap could lower the risk of premature death by up to 17%.
These findings emphasize the importance of choosing the right fats in our diet and suggest that plant-based oils are a healthier alternative to butter.
