Though not exclusively, grilling tends to be a communal activity. It’s a great way to combine two simple pleasures: eating and being outside. There’s also something undeniably gratifying about being able to host a crowd of people at your place and demonstrate your cooking abilities. Unfortunately, money doesn’t grow on trees, so if you want to make a name for yourself as a host or hostess and still be able to pay rent at the end of the month, you’ll need to opt for menu items that aren’t hugely expensive. This doesn’t mean you’ll have to buy the discounted mystery meat sequestered in some forgotten corner of your local butcher shop.
