The ultimate chili con carne

Step 1/4

- ½ red bell pepper

Peel and finely chop onion and garlic. Dice the red bell pepper. Halve the chili, remove the seeds, and finely chop.
Step 2/4
- 200 g ground beef
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp hot paprika powder
- oil (for frying)

Heat up some vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add ground beef and sauté for approx. 2–3 min. until browned. Then add cumin, paprika powder, chili, garlic, and onion. Avoid stirring too much to ensure that the meat stays flavorful.

Add tomato paste and continue to sauté for approx. 2–3 min. Season with salt and pepper.

- 200 g canned crushed tomatoes
- 100 g canned sweet corn
- 200 g canned kidney beans
- sugar
- salt
- pepper
- rice (for serving)
- sour cream (for serving)
Add canned crushed tomatoes, sweet corn, kidney beans, and the chopped red pepper. Stir well to combine. Leave to simmer for approx. 15—18 min. over low-medium heat. Stir occasionally. Season to taste with sugar, salt, and pepper. Serve with aromatic rice and sour cream.
