Ingredients
Utensils
2 bowls, whisk, cutting board, knife, 2 woks
Step 1/5
- 1 tsp ginger
- 3 cloves garlic
- ½ cup water (hot)
- 6 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 tbsp light brown sugar
- 1½ tbsp starch
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- bowl
- whisk
We start with preparing the sauce. Mix all the ingredients together in a small bawl and set it aside.
Step 2/5
- 1 lb flank steak
- cutting board
- knife
Cut the flank steak in thin slices against the grain. It is easier to cut when the meat is slightly frozen, hence you can put it in the freezer 30 mins before cooking.
Step 3/5
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb broccoli
- wok
- bowl
Time to cook veggies. Put a wok on a medium high heat, add 1 tbsp of olive oil and cook bite-sized broccoli or other veggies for 4-5 minutes or until your desired doneness. Once the veggies are done transfer them to a bowl.
Step 4/5
- wok
On the same wok, add the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil and the sliced pieces of the flank steak. Cook it on a medium-high heat for 2 minutes on each side or until your desired doneness. Then reduce the heat to low, add the sauce and let it simmer for 3 mins.
Step 5/5
Add the veggies to the wok for another 2 mins and you’re done! It’s best to serve it with a rice.
Enjoy your meal!
