Step 1/4
- 1 onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- 150 g pointed cabbage
- cutting board
- knife
Finely chop onion and garlic. Remove outer leaves and stalk from cabbage and cut into very thin strips.
Step 2/4
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 250 g ground beef
- salt
- pepper
- frying pan (large, with lid)
- spatula
Meanwhile, heat olive oil over medium heat in a large fry pan (which has a lid). Add beef and season generously with salt and pepper. Fry beef, breaking it up with a spatula while stirring so that it doesn’t stick. Once beef starts to brown, approx. 5 min., add garlic and onion. Keep frying for approx. 3 min. more, until the onion turns translucent.
Step 3/4
- 1½ tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Maggi seasoning sauce
- ¾ tbsp sweet paprika powder
- 200 ml vegetable broth
Add tomato paste, maggi, paprika powder, and stir well. After approx. 2 min, add cabbage and mix well with beef. Cook for approx. 3 more min. Add vegetable broth and continue mixing. Put a lid on the pan and cook for approx 10 min. until the cabbage has softened and the sauce is thickened. Taste and add salt and pepper if needed.
Step 4/4
- 2½ g parsley (for serving)
- 75 g sour cream (for serving)
- 25 g ajvar (optional)
- ½ kg boiled potatoes (for serving)
- 200 g rice (cooked, for serving)
- bowl (small)
Finely chop parsley and stir into the sour cream. Serve cabbage and mince with sour cream, ajvar (optional) and boiled potatoes or rice.
