"I love to do this when I don’t have much time and need a quick and delicious recipe to get me going. It’s great as a snack and works great with your tea in the morning with some extra sugar sprinkled on top. Bon appetite!"

Ingredients

bowl, rolling pin, baking pan, heatproof bowl (small), pot

  • Step 1/8

    Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius

  • Step 2/8

    • 12½ g butter
    • g sugar
    • bowl

    First add the softened butter to your sugar and beat them together with your hands in a bowl.

  • Step 3/8

    • 18 g flour

    Next add in the flour and knead the mixture together until it forms a smooth dough.

  • Step 4/8

    Place the dough onto a smooth surface and rollout the dough to around 1cm thick and cut into fingers.

    • baking pan

    Line your baking tray with baking paper and place your shortbread fingers onto the tray. Then pop them in the oven for about 20mins.

    • 10 g milk chocolate (melted, for serving)

    Place the broken up chocolate into a small bowl and place it over a pot of boiling water until the chocolate has melted.

  • Step 7/8

    Once the shortbread is looking golden brown, take them out of the oven and leave to cool on a cooling rack.

  • Step 8/8

    You can either dip or drizzle your shortbread with the chocolate and then leave to cool in the fridge.
