    For apple cake, preheat the oven to 200°C/392°F (top and bottom heat). Beat butter and sugar until creamy with a mixer. Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder, and ground almonds in another bowl. Then mix into the batter.

    For apple cake, preheat the oven to 200°C/392°F (top and bottom heat). Beat butter and sugar until creamy with a mixer. Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder, and ground almonds in another bowl. Then mix into the batter.

    Peel apples, quarter them, and remove the cores. Cut apple quarters into large chunks and fold into the batter. Pour the batter into the buttered springform pan and smooth the surface slightly. Bake in the preheated oven for approx. 50–60 min. until golden brown. If the cake starts browning too early, simply cover with aluminum foil for the remaining baking time. Once baked, brush the still-hot cake with the remaining butter and let it cool completely. Dust with confectioner’s sugar and serve.
