"This is one of my favourite recipes in the world! This chili con carne is not like eny other - This is packed with tons of flavor, and it have the perfect amount of spices. It's just spot on! (Even thought there's coffee in it, it's a 100% kids-friendly recipe. The coffee is just a healthier alternative for chocolate, because chocolate gives chili con carne alot of flavor, but coffee just gives it an even more delicius and intense flavor)."

133⅓ ml

33⅓ ml
strong coffee
beef bouillon cube
pinch
salt or to taste
garlic
tbsp
flour
canned kidney bean
tbsp
vegetable oil (for frying)

Utensils

knife, coffee maker, frying pan, cooking spoon, a lid

  • Step 1/5

    • knife
    • coffee maker

Make the coffee before you start making the dish. Chop the onion and minch the garlic.

  • Step 2/5

    • onion
    • tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
    • frying pan
    • cooking spoon

Saute the onions in the vegetable oil on high heat, for about 2 minutes.

  • Step 3/5

    • 266⅔ g ground beef
    • tsp chili flakes or chili powder

Add the ground beef and chili flakes / chili powder, and cook it on medium high heat untill the ground beef is cooked through.

  • Step 4/5

    • 133⅓ ml water
    • 33⅓ ml strong coffee
    • beef bouillon cube
    • canned crushed tomato
    • 16⅔ g tomato paste
    • tsp ground cumin
    • pinch salt or to taste
    • garlic
    • tbsp flour
    • tsp dried oregano

Add the rest of the ingredients, EXCEPT the kidney beans, and cook it on high heat while you keep stirring, until it reaches it's boiling point. Then turn down the heat on a low-medium heat, and let it simmer without a lid for about 30 min.

  • Step 5/5

    • canned kidney bean
    • a lid

Add the kidney beans, and let it simmer with a lid for an hour. When the chili con carne is done simmering, i would recommend serving it with jasmine rice or mashed potatos.
