Simple pan-fried steak with mushrooms

Step 1/2
- 2 pork neck steaks
- 150 g button mushrooms
- 150 g king oyster mushrooms
- ½ onion
- 2 sprigs parsley
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- pepper

Remove steaks from the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for approx. 30 min. before you start cooking. Clean button and king oyster mushrooms and cut into slices, approx. 1-cm/1/2-in. thick. Peel and finely dice onion. Finely chop parsley and set aside. Season steaks with salt and pepper on both sides. Add half of the olive oil to a frying pan over medium-high heat and sear steaks from each for approx. 3 - 4 min., or until brown. Remove steaks from pan.

- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 sprigs parsley
- salt
- pepper
Heat remaining olive oil and butter in the same frying pan. Add button and king oyster mushrooms and fry for approx. 2 – 3 min. Add onion and keep frying for approx. 3 – 4 min. more. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste. Add the steaks back to the frying pan and heat for approx. 2 min. Serve steaks with mushrooms and finely chopped parsley. Enjoy!
