Salami and sage scones

- 90 g salami
- 15 sage leaves

Preheat the oven to 200°C/395°C. Thinly slice salami and sage leaves.

- 350 g flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 tsp baking powder
- ¾ tsp smoked paprika powder
- 90 g unsalted butter (cold)
- 180 ml buttermilk

Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and smoked paprika powder in a mixing bowl. Mix butter into the flour mixture with your hands to form a crumbly dough. Add chopped salami and sage. Add buttermilk and knead everything together briefly.

On a floured work surface, roll out the dough approx. 2.5 cm/1-in. thick and cut out circles. Transfer scones to a silicone baking mat-lined baking sheet. Whisk the egg in a small bowl and brush the scones with it. Bake at 200°C/395°C for approx. 15 min. or until golden brown. Serve with butter and enjoy!
