"I found this recipe over 30 years ago while dinning in this steak house in Brooklyn, N.Y. I loved it so much I asked to see the Chef to see if he would share his recipe. I am so glad he was more than happy to share. It has ended up a tradition in our house for all holidays where a roast is the main course. Prime rib and potato pie were made for each other."

Ingredients

5 lb bag Yukon gold potatoes
1 lb mozzarella cheese
1/3 lb prosciutto
5-6 cloves fresh garlic
salt & pepper
Spanish paprika

Utensils

large pot and potato masher

  • Step 1/4

    • 5 lb bag Yukon gold potatoes
    • salt & pepper
    • large pot and potato masher

    Mash your potatoes as you normally would .

  • Step 2/4

    • 1 lb mozzarella cheese
    • 1/3 lb prosciutto
    • 5-6 cloves fresh garlic
    • olive oil

    dice up your mozzarella cheese and prosciutto. Melt butter and add minced garlic. Add ingredients to mashed potatoes.

  • Step 3/4

    Butter your baking dish. Put your potato mixture in. Lightly brush olive oil on top and sprinkle with grated cheese and Spanish paprika.

  • Step 4/4

    At this point you can refrigerate overnight or you can put in a 350 degree oven till lightly browned.
