Homemade Sorrel

- ½ kg freshly picked red sorrel

Remove seed from the sorrel.
Step 2/8
- pot with warm water
Use warm water to wash the sorrel before placing in pot.
Step 3/8
- 10 cups of water, stove
Take a large pot full with 10 cups of water and put on stove with medium heat
Step 4/8
- ¼ whole cinnamon sticks
- ¼ tsp whole clove
- ⅓ orange peel pieces
- ⅛ clove ginger
- a wooden spoon
After 10 minutes place in the following ingredients listed below. After adding the ingredients using the spoon turn for about two minutes and leave on medium heat for 30 minutes

- ¼ kg white granulated sugar
After the 30 minutes add the sugar and mixed essence and stir for 2 minutes
Step 6/8
leave for another 5 minutes and then turn off the stove and cover it properly so it can sit overnight
Step 7/8
Next morning remove all sorrel petals and spices from pot
Step 8/8
Fill in desired containers / bottles. Place in refrigerator until ready to serve
