Homemade chili oil

- 30 g ginger
- 2 chili peppers

Finely chop ginger. Cut tops off of the chili peppers and mince.
Step 2/3
- 2 star anise
- 230 ml vegetable oil
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 5 tbsp chili flakes
- vegetable oil for frying
- frying pan
Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add chili, ginger, and star anise. Fry until fragrant, then add vegetable oil, cumin, and chili flakes. Fry for approx. 3 – 5 min., while stirring.
Step 3/3
Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl or a sealable bottle or jar. Enjoy with soup, bread, or dips!
