Homemade burger buns

- 250 g flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ⅛ tsp salt

Add flour, sugar, and salt to the bowl of a stand mixer with dough hook attachment and mix on low speed.

- 75 ml milk
- 3½ g active dry yeast
- 100 ml water

Heat milk in a pot over low heat. Whisk in dry yeast. Add water to stand mixer.

Add warm milk and yeast mixture to stand mixer, mix on medium speed until a smooth dough comes together. Transfer dough to a lightly floured bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and set aside to rise for approx. 2 hours.

Lightly flour working surface and knead dough by hand, adding flour as needed. Cut into equal sized pieces and form round buns. Grease a baking sheet, line with parchment paper, and lightly flour. Transfer buns to baking sheet, cover with a kitchen towsl and allow to rise for approx. 30 min.

Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F. Separate an egg, brush burger buns with egg white, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top, if using. Bake for approx. 12 min. Allow to cool before cutting open. Enjoy!
