Step 1/4
- 23⅓ g Doritos nacho cheese flavored tortilla chips
- 30 g shredded cheddar cheese
- ⅓ egg
- oven
- resealable freezer bag
- 2 bowls (small)
- baking sheet
- parchment paper
- whisk
Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F. Transfer Doritos to a resealable freezer bag and crush until fine, then mix with cheddar cheese in a small bowl. Crack egg into another small bowl and beat. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 2/4
- ⅓ sheet puff pastry sheet
- 2 hot dogs
- pastry brush
- cutting board
- knife
Roll out puff pastry on a clean working surface. Brush with egg wash and evenly sprinkle with cheese and crushed Doritos mixture, gently pressing it into the puff pastry. Slice into 6 long strips (you need at least as many as you have hot dogs). Set one hot dog onto each strip. Roll up the cheesy Dorito puff pastry around each hot dog, then use a sharp knife to slice each into quarters.
Step 3/4
- ⅓ tbsp sesame seed
Transfer each pig in a blanket to the lined baking sheet and brush the tops with egg wash. Then sprinkle with any remaining cheese mixture and sesame seeds. Bake for approx. 20 min., or until the puff pastry is puffed and golden.
Step 4/4
- 50 g ketchup
- ⅓ tsp hot sauce
- ⅛ tsp chili powder
- bowl (small)
In a small bowl, mix ketchup with hot sauce and chili powder until well combined. Serve with the warm pigs in a blanket for dipping and enjoy!
Enjoy your meal!
